Age is assessed at the time of invitation, not application. If you're close to a boundary, the extra time in the queue matters.

All four bands must meet the minimum. A 7.5 overall with a 6.5 in one band = Competent, not Proficient.

To claim 10 pts for partner skills, your partner must be: under 45, have a skills assessment from the relevant body, and have at least Competent English.

The qualification must be relevant to your nominated occupation. The points value caps at 20 for any postgraduate degree.

Must be in Australia on a student visa. Short courses or partial studies do not qualify.

Professional Year is a structured graduate program run by professional bodies (CPAA, ICAA, ACS, EA). Usually takes 12 months and must be completed in Australia.

Eligible areas are defined by the Australian Government. Does not include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Wollongong, or Sunshine Coast.

Must be at least 20 hrs/week, paid, in your nominated occupation or a closely related field. Combined overseas + Australian experience is capped at 20 pts total.

Australian work experience attracts more points per year than overseas. Combined maximum is 20 pts (Australian experience takes priority in the cap).

SC 190 and SC 491 nominations require a separate application to state/territory governments. The additional points can significantly boost competitiveness. SC 491 requires living and working in a designated regional area for 3 years before applying for PR.
